1. Birth Details (Stored Locally)

When you create a profile, you provide:

  • Your name (or nickname)
  • Date of birth
  • Time of birth
  • Place of birth (latitude/longitude coordinates)
  • Gender (optional)

Important: This data is stored in your browser's local storage only. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly send a message asking for astrological analysis. We do not store this information on our servers.

2. Chat Messages & Queries

When you ask questions or request predictions, your messages and birth chart data are sent to our AI providers (Groq or OpenAI) for processing. These providers may temporarily store your queries for rate limiting and abuse prevention according to their own policies:

We do not permanently store your questions or the AI-generated responses on our servers. They exist only in your browser's local storage.

3. Technical & Usage Data

We may collect anonymous technical information to improve our service:

  • Browser type and version
  • Device type (desktop/mobile)
  • Pages visited
  • Features used
  • Error logs and performance metrics

This data is aggregated and anonymized. We cannot identify individual users from this data.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser local storage and cookies to:

  • Save your profiles and chat history on your device

  • Store your theme preference (light/dark mode)
  • Track whether you've completed onboarding

You can clear all locally stored data at any time through your browser settings or through our Settings page in the app.

No Server-Side Storage: We intentionally avoid storing your birth details or chat history on our servers. This "privacy by architecture" approach means even if our servers were compromised, your personal astrological data would not be at risk.

  • Delete: Delete individual profiles, chats, or all data at any time through Settings

  • Opt Out of Analytics: Use browser extensions like uBlock Origin or enable "Do Not Track" in your browser

Children's Privacy

Jyotir AI is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us immediately through our Contact Page so we can take appropriate action.

International Data Transfers

Jyotir AI is accessible globally. When you use our service, your data may be processed by our AI providers (Groq and OpenAI) which may operate servers in various countries including the United States. By using Jyotir AI, you consent to this cross-border data processing.
