Hi, I'm Kartik. I built Jyotir AI as a passion project to explore how AI can make authentic Vedic astrology accessible, transparent, and consistent for everyone.
Who We Are
Jyotir AI is a solo project created and maintained by me, Kartik Jangid, a product designer and problem solver from Jaipur, Rajasthan. I love building things that solve real problems, and Jyotir AI started as an experiment to see if AI could help people understand Vedic astrology better.
Founded in 2025, Jyotir AI combines my interest in product design, AI technology, and Vedic wisdom. What began as a weekend project has grown into a platform serving thousands of users who want to explore their birth charts with transparency and authenticity.
Important: This is a passion project built for fun and learning. While I've put significant effort into ensuring astronomical accuracy and citing authentic classical texts, I'm not a professional Vedic astrologer. I strongly recommend consulting experienced Vedic astrologers or pandits for important life decisions, especially regarding marriage, career changes, health, or finances. Jyotir AI is a tool for exploration, education, and entertainment — not a replacement for professional astrological guidance.

I'm a product designer and problem solver based in Jaipur, Rajasthan. My background is in building digital products that combine thoughtful design with technical innovation. I love exploring the intersection of ancient wisdom and modern technology.
My journey with Vedic astrology started out of curiosity — I wanted to understand how birth charts work and why different astrologers give different predictions for the same chart. This led me down a rabbit hole of classical Vedic texts, astronomical calculations, and eventually, building Jyotir AI as a way to make this knowledge accessible and transparent.

That said: I'm not a professional astrologer. I'm a product designer who's passionate about Vedic wisdom and AI. While I've studied classical texts and ensured technical accuracy, please consult experienced Vedic astrologers for major life decisions. When Was Jyotir AI Founded?
Jyotir AI was founded in January 2025 as a solo passion project. The idea started in late 2024 when I was experimenting with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems and wondered if the same technology could make Vedic astrology more accessible and transparent.

Our Mission & Vision
The Problem I'm Trying to Solve
Most AI astrology apps today are broken. They give you generic predictions that change every time you ask the same question. They don't cite sources. They hallucinate information. They feel more like chatbots pretending to be astrologers than actual astrological tools.
Traditional astrology consultations, on the other hand, can be expensive and inconsistent. Different astrologers give different readings for the same chart. There's no way to verify claims. And it's hard to know who to trust.
My Vision for Jyotir AI
Fix Broken AI Astrology
Build an AI system that's grounded in authentic Vedic texts, not just generic LLM knowledge. Every claim should be backed by classical scriptures with proper citations.
Provide Detailed Insights from Vedic Scriptures
Instead of vague, templated responses, retrieve relevant passages from 45+ classical texts and explain predictions with specific references to Brihat Parashara, Jaimini, Phaladeepika, and others.
Ensure Consistency
Your birth chart doesn't change, so your predictions shouldn't either. The same question about the same chart should always retrieve the same classical principles and give the same core answer.
Make Vedic Wisdom Accessible
Authentic Vedic astrology shouldn't be limited to those who can afford expensive consultations or who can read Sanskrit. AI can democratize access while maintaining authenticity.
Transparency Over Mysticism
Astrology doesn't need to be mysterious or secretive. Show the sources, explain the reasoning, and let users verify claims themselves. Education over obscurity.

- Swiss Ephemeris for calculations: NASA-grade astronomical accuracy for planetary positions, used by professional astrologers worldwide
- RAG system with 19,627 verified text chunks: All passages from classical Vedic texts are manually verified before being embedded in the AI system
- Mandatory source citations: Every prediction must reference a specific classical text with chapter and verse
- Anti-hallucination safeguards: The AI is instructed to ONLY use information from retrieved texts, not its general training data
- Human-reviewed blog content: All blog articles are written by me, researched from authentic sources, and fact-checked
